"Me & My Daddy Fashion Show"
Dads and Kids on the Runway for the
Annual Mercy Foundation Fashion Show
Taking to the catwalk…for a cause. Friends of Mercy Foundation were in the spotlight earlier this month for the annual “Me and My Daddy” Fashion Show luncheon, benefiting Mercy Hospital. On Dec. 5, dads, granddads and uncles joined sons, daughters, nieces and nephews, to pose for the cameras and show off the latest in holiday fashions. Hosted by the Ambassadors of Mercy Foundation, a key support group for the Foundation, the festive fundraiser took place in downtown Miami at the InterContinental Miami. It is an important event that raises funds for pivotal programs and services within Mercy Hospital.
“In times like these, we are reminded of the generosity and spirit of so many that make an event like this one not only extremely special, but possible,” said Josie Romano Brown, President of Mercy Foundation. “We are grateful for the continued support of members of the Foundation. Their dedication is a service to Mercy Hospital, and, in turn, a great service to the community.”
Against the backdrop of a winter wonderland, and moving to the beat of some holiday tunes, young “models” walked the runway in festive fashions. Ranging in age from infants to teenagers, they were escorted by their dads and even in some cases, uncles and granddads. Also making a welcomed appearance was Santa Claus, who took pictures with children and their families.
Chairing the event this year were Eileen and Manny Alonso, Michael J. Alvarez and Melissa Hernández, Melisa and Carlos Chantres, George Fernández and Lily Llanes, Dr. Marilu Madrigal and Mr. Brian Lawrence, Angela Puentes-León & Jesse León, Josie and Manny Vadillo and Janette Zayas-Bazán and Jorge Uribe.
