Dozens hit the links for a cause with Mercy Golf Classic

Dozens teed off on May 7th at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in an effort to raise critical funds for Mercy Hospital. The Golf Classic, sponsored by Mercy Foundation and its support group, Ambassadors of Mercy, is an important tradition that, for two decades, has attracted friends, community leaders, hospital staff and supporters.

The 20th installment of the event was particularly significant as it came on the heels of the Foundation’s $148,000 donation toward Mercy’s purchase of the superDimension® i·Logic™ System, which is revolutionizing diagnosis of lung cancer and lung-related diseases. It was another example of how fundraising by the Foundation and support groups like Ambassadors has made a great impact on facilitating the latest healthcare services and technology for the community.

“We enjoyed another great edition of this spirited event and have appreciated all of the hard work and time that has gone into its production,” said Ron Mann, Mercy Golf Classic chair and Ambassadors member. “While it may be a day of fun, it’s even more important to note how significant this event has been, not only for Mercy, but the patients it serves.”
